About Me

Hi’ I’m Steve May, an award winning Wedding Photographer based in Lymm, Cheshire. My passion for photography began when I got married, 10 years ago. I wanted a camera for my honeymoon, I bought a 4 mp compact camera and have never looked back. For 13 years prior to getting married, and 7 years after, I was a high school mathematics teacher – teaching a little bit of photography as well in the latter years. During these ‘latter years’ I was delighted to receive an award for my photography from the Royal Photographic Society. Three years ago I decided to ‘live the dream’, I gave up a successful career in education and became a full time wedding photographer.

I pride myself on capturing those un-posed moments, the photographs that carry the joy and emotion of the day, those moments that tell the story. I will give you, through my photography, a record of the most beautiful day of your life, a record which carries all the love and happiness of the day.

I like my photographs to appear natural, as though they were taken by an observer and not a commissioned photographer. There is very little posing involved in modern wedding photography and for most of the day I won’t be seen, but there is generally a need to pose some photographs though towards the end of the day, the group photos, and some photos for mums and dads. These photos are organized and taken quickly and skilfully not slowing the day down at all.
